MOUNTAIN BIKING: Ouita Coal Company

← AR BUFFALO RIVER HARRIET AR Single Tracks →

Description

The terrain out there varies from flat to rolling hills with only a few small climbs. There are some fun little rollers out there that require a little grunt to get up on but they are pretty fast and fun coming back down. As far as big sustained climbs go you won't have to much out there to worry about. The trail is a very tight and twisty affair so watch for handlebar grabbing vines and tree's. Now for the technical side of this trail I would have to say it's not overly technical but there are a few places where rocks and roots will try to hinder your forward movement. As for scenic area's along the trail there are a few good shots of Lake Dardanelle as well as the power plant if you consider that scenic.

Directions

Coming from Conway take I-40 to Russellville. In Russellville take exit 78 and turn left onto Mission Rd. Go down Mission Rd. for about .3 miles and then turn left onto Hwy 64. Drive just a matter of yards and turn left into the Illinois Bayou Park. Follow this road for a few yards and you will see the parking lot on the left.
